12 AIB Teams with each team made up from staff across AIB departments & Branches in Dublin city.
A hotly contested final, won by the All Blacks brought an end to successful summer campaign.

 

AIB Summer Astro 2007

2007 saw the return of INTERBANKSOCCER, formerly (AIB Area Dublin Astro League).  Played over eight weeks, the league consisted of eight teams from branches and departments from the Dublin Area, playing at UCD Sports Grounds. 

The initial group stages were keenly fought with the teams from Card Issuing, Card Acquiring, Home Mortgages and O'Connell Street progressing to the Semi’s.  Victories for Card Issuing and Home Mortgages set the stage for an exciting final, played on a wet and windy Tuesday night.  Eventually winners were Card Issuing with a 2-1 victory, following a last minute goal from Mark Hutchinson, who finished the tournament as the overall top scorer.

Baggot Street Wins AIB Summer League 2006

For the second year in a row, a Joint Team from AIB’s two Baggot Street Branches captured the AIB Area Dublin Astro summer football league.

Played at UCD over two months, eight teams from Branches and departments across the capital completed for the trophy.  Baggot Street Played Credit Cards in the final in which went to sudden death penalties.

Baggot Street Captures AIB Soccer League 2005

A joint team from the AIB Baggot Street Branches captured the AIB summer soccer league set up by their colleagues in Central Securities.

Four Teams Took part, Baggot Street, Central Securities, Home Mortgages and Branch & Clearing played matches at the UCD sports ground.  Winners Baggot Street lost only match to runner up Central Securities.
